Tickets were still selling fast for Adam Lambert's first concert in the Coachella Valley on Monday.
Lambert, who lost to Kris Allen on "American Idol'' last May, will headline a Feb. 27 show at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino's Special Events
Center.
2,050 tickets had already been sold as of 1:00 p.m. Monday.
The last show to completely sell-out at Fantasy Springs was a John Legend concert held in January 2009, according to Ciara Green, Fantasy Springs Resort Hotel and Casino spokeswoman. Lionel Richie and Harry Connick, Jr shows also sold-out in that same month.
More than 30 people lined up before the tickets went on sale Friday for the Lambert concert, for a chance to attend the upcoming concert.
"One person was in line as early as 6:15 a.m.," said Green.
"The phones have been non stop all day with calls from all over the world about the concert," Green added.
People had been calling to buy tickets from as far away as Australia and Taiwan, she told KPSP.
Tickets for the 8 p.m. concert, cost $39, $59, or $79, depending on the seat.
They can be bought via
the Fantasy Springs website or by calling the casino's box office at 760-342-5000. You can also buy them at the casino, which is located at 84245 Indio Springs Drive in Indio.
The Special Events Center can fit about 3,500 people, according to the casino.
