Power is restored tonight to more than 400 Southern California Edison customers who lost power in Palm Springs Thursday night, an Edison spokeswoman said.
The outage affecting 437 customers began at 5:05 p.m., near Tahquitz Canyon Way and South Palm Canyon Drive, said Southern California Edison Spokeswoman Lauren Bartlett. Power was restored to all customers by 8:06 p.m. tonight.
Bartlett says a failure involving equipment belonging to a bottled water company in Cabazon caused the outage.
Its borders fell right within those of the popular Thursday night street festival, VillageFest. Festival participants tell KPSP Local 2 that power was out as they began set-up, but it was restored by the time attendees started to arrive.
