A Coachella Valley casino has been nominated for an Academy of Country Music Award, it was announced Tuesday.
Agua Caliente Casino, Resort, Spa in Rancho Mirage was the only California casino to be nominated for the ACM Industry Award.
The other nominees include:Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa and Casino - Las Vegas, NV
Mystic Lake Casino Hotel - Prior Lake, MN
Peppermill Casino - Wendover, NV
WinStar World Casino - Thackerville, OK
Last year, the award went to the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY.
The winner of this award won't be announced during the televised 45th Annual ACM Awards on April 18th, but are recognized in the show's program book and announced two weeks earlier.
The Academy of Country Music Industry Awards are voted on by the Academy's professional members, and are given to honor "the behind-the-scenes musicians, producers, engineers and industry professionals who contribute so much to the artistry, success and longevity of country music,"
according to the ACM website.
The Rancho Mirage casino says the nomination is the second for them since opening the doors to The Show, its 2,000 seat concert theatre in February of 2009, as it was recently nominated for "Best New Major Concert Venue" by Pollstar Magazine.
