A gang member who robbed and killed a man in a Cathedral City driveway in 2006 was sentenced Friday to life in prison without the possibility of
parole.
28 year old Miguel Najera was convicted December 2nd of first degree murder and robbery in the May 28th 2006, slaying of 40-year-old Adrian Cedeno at a home on C Street. Najera had just been paroled from state prison days earlier.
Najera's attorney told the jury that the gang member's abusive childhood led to his life of violence, and insisted that while Najera admitted to killing Cedeno, it was an accident. He said Najera's weapon discharged unintentionally.
