A United Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Palm Springs Monday night, after reporting problems with the aircraft's landing gear.
The United Express/ Skywest Airlines flight was en route to Palm Springs International Airport from Los Angeles International.
The pilot of flight 6309 noticed an "unsafe landing gear" indication shortly after takeoff and alerted the airport of the possible problem, according to Ian Gregor of the Federal Aviation Administration.
Several Engines from the Palm Springs Fire Department responded to the airport and were waiting on the runway when the plane landed.
The plane did land safely at 7:38pm-- a half hour behind schedule-- and no crew or passengers were injured, according to United Airlines and the FAA.
Gregor said that it was probably just a faulty indicator light that caused the scare.
