A gunman, who opened fire Friday on a Palm Springs mobile home but did not hit either of the occupants sleeping inside, was at large.
The shooting was reported about 12:30 a.m. at the Golden Sands Mobile Home Park at 1900 E. San Rafael Drive, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.
Sgt. Melissa Desmarais said officers went to the park and located the mobile home that had been the unidentified shooter's apparent target.
"Although two subjects were asleep inside the mobile home while the suspect shot at the occupied dwelling, no injuries were reported,'' Desmarais said.
It wasn't immediately clear why the home was targeted. Anyone with information was urged to call the police department at (760) 323-8115.
