Motocross Accident Results in One Death

A 31-year-old motocross rider from San Clemente was killed after jumping his bike at a track in Perris, the Riverside County coroner's office said Wednesday.

The rider lost control of his bike after a jump, the coroner's office said.  He was wearing a helmet.

The rider, whose name was withheld, was declared dead at 6:32pm Tuesday at the Riverside County Regional Medical Center, just eighteen minutes after he was injured, reports indicated.

The accident happened about 6:15pm Tuesday at the track at 18700 Lake Perris Drive, which is billed as the oldest motorcycle track in the state.
