Merlin Olsen, Former NFL Hall of Famer, Actor & Broadcaster Dies

Merlin Olsen,  former Los Angeles Rams player for 15 years died on Thursday at 69. Olsen was a defensive tackle and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1982. 

According to cbssports.com he died after battling cancer.  Last year he was diagnosed with mesothelioma .

After his career in football, Olsen was a sports broadcaster on NBC for NFL games. He also starred in several tv shows like "Little House on the Prairie" and "Father Murphy."
