Daniel Avila and Eileen Ortiz, both wanted for an armed robbery that took place in Coachella last August, were taken into police custody after a standoff at an apartment complex in Cathedral City Tuesday night.

Avila and Ortiz were arrested after the August robbery, but both bailed out of jail and vanished.

They have now become the 22nd and 23rd fugitives profiled on KPSP Local 2's Wheel of Justice to be captured.

The standoff, that started at 6 pm Tuesday, forced the lockdown of Bridge Calvary Chapel next door.

After Ortiz surrendered peacefully, she walked out of the apartment with a young child, who was taken into Child Protective Services custody.

Avila barricaded himself inside the home, but eventually surrendered.

Stay tuned to KPSP Local 2 for further details.
