A mobile home erupted in flames Thursday morning in Desert Hot Springs and left one family without a home.
KPSP Local 2 was the first and only crew on scene after the fire broke out at around 2:30 Thursday morning. It happened at the Hidden Springs Country Club in DHS.
Firefighters say the fire was completely engulfed in flames when they first arrived on scene. They say the home was completely destroyed by the time the flames were put out.
The family was sleeping inside when they heard a "popping" sound according to firefighters. They rushed out of the home when they saw the fire and no one was injured.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The park manager says the family was taken in by another family there. Firefighters told KPSP the American Red Cross will also be called in to help the family.
