Protesters from around California are marching 400 miles to Sacramento, in an effort to chang what they call the "grid-locked political system."

The march began Saturday in Bakersfield. It will take 48 days to complete.

The group wants to raise taxes on corporations and the rich and increase education spending.

Thousands of people of all ages will join in at various stops along the way, but only seven will march the entire length.

It's being organized by the California Federation of Teachers and aided by various unions.
