A string of burglaries in a south Indio neighborhood has the people who live there taking serious steps to make them stop.

Starting with capturing the alleged crimes on tape!

A surveillance video of a man catches him scoping out a vehicle on Panzy Street, near Avenue 48 and Sheilds Road.

You can see the guy walking around and then throwing things at a car.

Residents there hope people see the video and realize they're being watched!

"They're going to get caught there's no question in my mind, you keep doing something you're going to get caught up in your own tricks hopefully we see that these individuals are brought to justice, said one Indio resident.

Several other cars and homes in the area have been broken into, as a result neighbors are also adding more lights to their homes and keeping an eye on each other's homes.

Police said they have increased patrols and are offering a $1000 dollar reward for information leading to the arrest.

You may also be eligible for a reward by calling CrimeStoppers at 341-STOP.
