Every week we look at some of the property crimes Valley police departments are working.
This week we bing in La Quinta where officers dealt with shoplifting and home burglaries.
Security guards flagged down a police officer outside the Target store at 78935 Highway 111. They reported a male adult who had taken a number of DVD's from their cartons, and hid them in his clothing. The man apparently realized he had been spotted, and tried to return the DVD's to their boxes. Too late, he was arrested.
Officers in La Quinta also responded to a break in at an apartment complex at 47797 Dune Palms Road. Upon arrival, they found a front door kicked open and the apartment ransacked.
Over to Indio now where police were dealing with a number of stolen vehicles from an apartment complex. They think it could be the work of a car theft ring. Several vehicles taken from outside parking spots on the 46700 block of Monroe, that's just north of Dr. Carreon. Hondas and Toyotas seem to be the targets of choice.
Crimetracker zips over to Indian Wells now. Two men already under arrest for a home break in. It happened on the 78000 block of Vista Del Sol. No word on what was taken, but it has been recovered.
And we wrap up this week's Crimetracker in Palm Springs. Police Chief David Dominguez's officers working a vehicle theft on the 2900 block of E. Ramon Road. A Toyota Camry taken from the front of an apartment complex.
And a commercial burglary being worked on the 200 block of North Palm Canyon Dr. Police report they still don't know how the thief gained access to the business. They do know what was taken, pet supplies.
