Every week we look at some of the property crimes valley police departments are working.
This week we begin in La Quinta where deputies responded to a residential burglary on the 51200 block of Calle Paloma. A homeowner said she was awakened by a loud bang and the sound of breaking glass. She saw two male adults at her rear door. The suspects fled. Police said they had thrown a rock through a glass pane of a door. No property reported stolen.
Three juveniles already arrested for spray painting graffiti on the 48200 block of Washington were booked into juvenile hall for vandalism and conspiracy.
Let's head to Cathedral City, where home burglaries are also being worked by police. A window smashed by burglars at a home on the 31000 block of Avenida Valdez. Jewelry was taken from the home.
And a rear door was the apparent point of entry to a home on the 29000 block of Avenida Maravilla. Once in the home, thieves made off with jewelry and a computer.
Crimetracker moves on to Palm Springs. A dry cleaning business on the 1500 block of S. Palm Canyon Drive was entered by thieves after they smashed out a window. Currency was taken from a cash register.
And on the 3000 block of Greg Circle, someone got into a home through an unlocked window. They made off with two laptop computers.
And we wrap up this week's Crimetracker in Desert Hot Springs. Residential burglaries are the problem here as well. An unknown point of entry used at a home on the 12700 block of Avenida Serena. A 1995 Ford Mustang was taken from the garage.
And so far police have also not determined how a burglar got into a home on the 12100 block of Foxdale in Desert Hot Springs, but they do know he, or she, got away with a 54 inch big screen television.
