Every week we look at some of the property crimes Valley police departments are working. We begin in Desert Hot Springs.
A couple of home burglaries keeping officers busy in Desert Hot Springs. Police said someone broke into a home on the 13500 block of Monterey Road during daylight hours, but while the homeowner was sleeping. The area of entry was the front door, it was kicked in. Losses included a Panasonic LCD television and a Gateway laptop computer.
And another daytime burglary in DHS. A man broke into a home on the 66000 block of Cahuilla. The garage was left unlocked. Two bike helmets and a tile saw taken here.
Now we head over to Palm Desert on Crimetracker. A home invasion robbery at 73200 Tumbleweed. The victim was home when two males wearing ski masks and gloves entered through an unlocked slider. The victim was punched in the face, and the robbers made off with undisclosed items.
And we wrap up Crimetracker this week in La Quinta. More residential burglaries. On the 80900 block of Vista Galope officers responded to a call to find a smashed window and the electric and phone lines cut to a home. But, apparently the suspects got spooked. It does not appear the burglars actually gained entrance to the home.
And police said a thief made entry to a home on the 45000 block of Bridgette Way prying open the front door. No word on what items were taken.
