Kate Cagle is KPSP Local 2's Morning Show reporter.
Since joining the team in 2010, she has covered everything from gangs in our Valley to a tight congressional race to military technology at the Twentynine Palms Marine Corps Base. She loves serving the community by spotlighting important issues like hunger and health and the fight to lower the unemployment rate.
Kate led coverage of the largest gang crackdown in Riverside County history, interviewed former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and co-anchored the station's newscast onsite from the funeral for former First Lady Betty Ford.
She loves to explore the Coachella Valley. A South Texas native, she loves hiking the Valley's numerous trails and hitting up local shops.
Kate graduated from the University of Southern California with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. She was a reporter, anchor and executive producer for USC's student-run newscast, Annenberg TV News. There, she covered Southern California wildfires and a city budget crisis that threatened to shut down Los Angeles city services.
While not working, Kate enjoys spending time with family and friends, sampling the best restaurants the Desert has to offer and, of course, watching Trojan football. She is looking forward to meeting the community, so please feel free to e-mail her at
