Valley police made 15 DUI arrests this 4th Of July weekend at sobriety checkpoints.
The Palm Springs Police Department says 592 vehicles were screened at their DUI checkpoint Friday night, but no arrests were made for DUIs.
Fourteen citations were issued for driving without a license or insurance, seat belt violations and other state vehicle code violations.
In Indian Wells, of the 625 vehicles were screened Friday night, one driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Nineteen other drivers were cited for driving without a license.
The California Highway Patrol made the most arrests in the area, citing 14 people for driving under the influence during the three day weekend, from Friday night through Monday night. Those CHP arrests are for the Indio area, which encompasses the majority of the Coachella Valley, from Desert Center to just west of State Route 62, as well as down to Imperial County.
Six people were injured in holiday weekend accidents as well, the CHP added.
