Thousands of people headed to the La Quinta Civic Center Campus, for the 28th annual La Quinta Arts Festival over the weekend.
The La Quinta Arts Festival is ranked 8th in the country for best art shows.
From captivating hand crafted sculptures, to eye popping glass blown art, more than 230 artists participated in the festival this year including, Jason Napier, who has attended the festival for the last 7 years.
"This is the finest festival I have ever been to and I have been to quite a few different festivals around the United States," said Napier.
Michele Landrey and her husband are visiting from Portland Oregon. She said they were driving by and wanted to see what the festival had to offer.
"It's a lot larger then we thought so its got everything from fantastic sculptures to art to jewelry so there's a little bit of everything, but I'm really impressed with the quality and again the diversity of the art," said Landrey.
All of the artists at the festival contribute a portion of their sales to the La Quinta Arts Foundation.
"We award college scholarships to visual art students they've totalled over $878,000 dollars to date. We teach art in the elementary schools and do cultural and learning programs for adults and seniors in the valley," said La Quinta Arts Foundation Executive Director, Christi Salamone.
Napier said that's one of the reasons why he enjoys displaying his art at the festival.
"As an artist you want to be able to give back and you have so many customers that give to you and support you so any chance you have you want to be able to give back to the community," said Napier.
The festival ended Sunday, but you still have a chance to check out the art by
