Downtown Villagefest has a special guest stopping by Thursday night-- the recently crowned Queen of the Frank Bogert Memorial Rodeo.

19-year-old Jessica Tourino was scheduled to be at the Villagefest booth in front of Pony Express located at 155 S. Palm Canyon Dr. in Palm Springs, according to rodeo organizers.

"As a goodwill ambassador for Palm Springs, the Frank Bogert Memorial Rodeo and Palm Springs Wild WestFest, the Rodeo Queen makes public appearances to promote the upcoming rodeo and be an example of good character for the Palm Springs community," said J. Alex Gomez of the rodeo.

The 'queen' was to be at local radio station KPLM's booth, signing autographs and giving away tickets and CDs, from 4-7 p.m.

About the Rodeo

The Palm Springs Wild WestFest and The Frank Bogert Memorial PRCA Rodeo is presented by The Spa Resort Casino.

The combination of Western lifestyle, music, sports, arts, and culture takes place in the heart of Palm Springs from March 12-13-14, 2010.

"The event is designed to showcase Palm Springs and its business community in the backdrop of the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto National Monuments," organizers say.

"This event is inspired by the late Mayor Frank M. Bogert's vision of a resort town that hosts Hollywood celebrities, heads of state and cowboys of all ages."

The Wild WestFest is free to the public, and professional rodeo tickets can be bought here.  Prices start at $8.
