The city of Coachella held a groundbreaking event Tuesday for a project that city leaders say will help attract jobs to that Valley city.
Coachella City Councilmembers and city business leaders, along with project partners from the U.S. Economic Development Agency were all on hand for the ceremony that officially broke ground on the construction project that will extend Enterprise Way, between Industrial Way and Avenue 54.
"The extension of Enterprise Way through the entire business park will greatly improve transportation logistics for existing businesses and open the door for new companies seeking the convenient freeway and rail access that Coachella offers," said the city's public information consultant, Bob Mara.
The Enterprise Way Infrastructure Improvement Project is costing about $2.6 million and is expected to be complete within eight months.
