Two suspects who carjacked a man's Buick in Temecula and drove him to Hemet before releasing him unharmed were at large Wednesday, a sheriff's sergeant said.

The victim called Temecula police about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday and said he had been carjacked in the 41000 block of Winchester Road, said Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Michael Canizales.

He said two men drove him to Hemet before releasing him unharmed, Canizales said.

San Jacinto Police officers spotted the stolen vehicle -- a silver, four-door, 2000 Buick LeSabre -- at 2:20 a.m. near Seventh Street and San Jacinto
Avenue in San Jacinto, Canizales said.

They tried to stop the suspects but were unsuccessful, he said.

Authorities are looking for a Hispanic man in his late 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches and 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, and a Hispanic man in his early 20s, about 5 feet 6 inches and 160 pounds, with black hair. The Buick's California license plate number is 4LLT856.

Anyone with information on the suspects or the car was asked to call Temecula police at (951) 696-3000.
