A single-engine plane made a hard-landing at a Coachella Valley airport Thursday, but no injuries were reported.
The Mooney M020 landed at 11:20 at Bermuda Dunes Airport, according to Mike Fergus with the Federal Aviation Administration's Northwest Mountain Region.
Two people were onboard the plane headed here from Monterey when it landed, and were both unharmed, Fergus said.
A wind gust pushed the plane's wing into the dirt, causing the aircraft to cartwheel as it was landing, he said.
"On landing, a gust of wind caught the aircraft,'' he said. "The left wing hit the dirt and the aircraft then cartwheeled.''
Six firefighters and two engines responded to the at the airport on Avenue 42 and Country Club Drive after the landing but were called off shortly thereafter, according to Jody Hagemann with the Riverside County Fire Department.
The plane, built in 1974, is registered to a Monetery resident, according to FAA registry documents.
Fergus said the FAA will continue to investigate the crash.
