Thanksgiving is right around the corner and many of us will be preparing that huge feast. But this year we wanted to put a twist on the annual tradition - let's go organic style!
If you want to start introducing organic ingredients into your Thanksgiving meal this holiday season, a great way to start is your produce such as fruits and vegetables. One of the best places to find locally grown organic produce is the Certified Farmers' Markets. From squashes to lettuce, to sweet potatoes and yams, these local markets have a variety of fresh and organic products - even a bouquet of flowers for a beautiful table centerpiece!
The Certified Farmers' Markets travel to different locations across the valley during the week.
Here is a list of the locations and hours for the Certified Farmers' Markets:
On Saturdays in Palm Springs, from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm, adjacent to the Camelot Theatres in the Palm Springs Mall parking lot at 2300 E. Baristo Road at Farrell.
On Sundays in Old Town La Quinta, from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm, at 78100 Main Street, just a few blocks west of La Quinta City Hall off Calle Tampico.
On Wednesdays in Palm Desert, from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm, at the Palm Desert Visitor Center, 72-567 Highway 111.
