At least one challenger has filed papers to run against Riverside County District Attorney Rod Pacheco in the June 8 primary election.
Paul Zellerbach, a judge on unpaid leave and a former prosecutor, turned in the paperwork at the registrar of voters office last week, the Riverside Press-Enterprise reported.
Michael Flory, a Norco resident and prosecutor in the Orange County district attorney's office, said he planned to file final papers before the deadline at 5 p.m. Friday, but it was unclear if he did.
If no candidate wins a majority of the vote June 8, the top two vote- getters will face each other in a runoff in November.
