Police were still looking Monday for some supects involved in a string of armed robberies that took place throughout several Coachella Valley cities Friday night.

A Motel 6 was robbed at gunpoint at around 9:40 p.m. in Rancho Mirage at 69570 Highway 111, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

A man walked in with a sawed-off shot gun, and demanded money, police said.  He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and a purse.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 5’7”, average build, and was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, and dark baggie pants, according to Sheriff's reports.  The suspect was outstanding as of Monday.

Shortly after the motel robbery, a fast food restaurant was also robbed on Highway 111 in Indio.

It's unclear if anything was stolen, but police say there was a possible weapon involved.

A suspect has been taken into custody, according to Indio Police. He fled the scene, but returned as police were establishing a perimeter.

An airsoft pistol was found nearby, but police said it's unclear if it was related to the crime.

Also on Friday night, an 18-year-old man was robbed of his skateboard at knife point.

Police say two men demanded his skateboard, then took off near Avenida Vallejo and Calle Arroba in La Quinta.

Police are still investigating these cases. If you have any information on any of these crimes, call Valley Crime Stoppers at 341-STOP.
